Review of the Brown Swiss progeny groups
Piano and Vassido
On the occasion of the first ProRind association show, the BSG team was able to successfully present two hopeful offspring groups of the Brown Swiss sires PIANO and VASSIDO. One week later, both bulls made it onto the daughter-tested Brown Swiss list.
PIANO - Type and performance
Piano, the first daughter-tested Piero-son from the Brown Swiss breeding farm Blenk, Stötten, was presented. His dam Lasvegas was cleverly bred to the Swiss Anibal son Piero as a young cow and was already able to send her first calf to an AI center with Piano. His dam is currently in her 4th lactation and convinces with her strong development and an excellent udder qualiy. The deep, performance-ready cow family can be traced back almost 50 years on the breeding farm at Auerberg.
His daughters show, like the bull himself, very physical with a long, deep middle hand. Piano's pleasing offspring were also always convincing in the pre-selection. The strong udder quality of his daughters is certainly worth mentioning. Long, wide udders with ideal teats and outstanding texture.
Also in the offspring evaluation the Piano daughters could convince with their udder quality and so Piano could increase 11 points in the udder to now 123. Piano was already used as a young sire in the breeding programme and so his sons Pasadena (MS: Dario) and Platin (MS: Hidalgo) are already standing at our station in Greifenberg, who also benefit from the devopment of their father.
VASSIDO - Body, Udder & Components
Vassido comes from the success mating Vassli x Juleng, with which Valerian and Vasary have also made it into the second crop. Vassido was bred with the best view of the Forggensee by Miller Manfred, Rieden am Forggensee. Also his dam, Juleng Jana, stands with 6 calvings and an average of 3,96% protein with best health in the breeders stable. She can always convince with her enormous calibre, long udders and somewhat longer, stronger teats.
The daughters of Vassido also impress with their strong conformation with enormous torso depth and long, wide pelvis. Also the udders could convince with their length and good fit. Vassido's two best sons Vaskur and Vento are already in our stables.
